Automotive Technician 

Some technicians like replacing parts.

Phil really likes figuring out why the part failed in the first place.

An ASE Master Certified Technician and member of the Gurney’s team since 2010, Phil especially enjoys diagnostics—the difficult problems that require patience, experience, and occasionally staring at a vehicle until it finally reveals its secrets.

He’s a firm believer in doing the job correctly the first time. Every vehicle he works on is something a person or family depends on, and Phil doesn’t take that responsibility lightly.

His teammates know him for his work ethic, dependability, and commitment to doing things properly.

Away from the shop, Phil’s priorities are much simpler: family and faith. He loves spending time with his family and being involved with his church family.

Whether he’s solving a difficult automotive problem or serving someone outside the shop, Phil likes being useful.

Preferably with the problem actually solved when he’s finished.
