Bill has been into cars for about as long as he can remember. Toy cars eventually became real cars, real cars became a career, and in 1985, Bill and his wife Charlotte turned that lifelong passion into Gurney’s Automotive Repair.

More than 40 years later, Bill is still learning. Certifications, technical seminars, leadership training—if there’s something that can help him become a better technician, leader, or business owner, he wants to know about it.

But ask Bill about the best part of Gurney’s and he probably won’t talk about cars at all.

He’ll talk about people.

Over four decades, Bill has watched customers become friends, kids grow up, families change, and relationships stretch across generations. To him, that’s what Gurney’s has always been about.

His Christian faith is the foundation of his life, and Bill describes himself simply as “a sinner saved by grace.” It shapes how he leads, how he treats people, and the values of honesty, fairness, and respect that have guided Gurney’s from the beginning.

Bill sums it up better than we could:

“We care about you, your family, and your car—but more about you and your family than your car.”

And after 40+ years, he still means it.
